2. High-precision processing

6. Small heat affected zone

During cutting process, the edge of the material to be cut will generate a heat-affected zone due to heat. However, compared with other processing methods, laser cutting has lower energy concentration and heat input. Compared with plasma cutting and flame cutting, the heat-affected zone is relatively small and the heat input is small. It is suitable for cutting ferritic stainless steel that is easy to grow grains and easy to quench and high-strength steel with a hard tendency, and it is conducive to improving the quality of welds.

7. Low-cost for small batch production

In mass production, the process of mold blanking is selected for processing, and the cost of making molds is evenly distributed to each part in mass production is low. However, if using die blanking process in a small batch production, not only the mold production cycle is long which can’t meet the timeliness of parts processing, but also the processing cost is higher when mold cost is evenly distributed to each part.

Therefore, CNC cutting is generally used for processing. Due to the weak perforation ability of plasma cutting, the low cutting precision and the poor forming quality of the hole, another drilling process needs to be added, and a drilling mold needs to be made. Not only the processing time is longer, but the cost is also higher. So it’s not suitable for automobile manufacturing.

Fiber laser cutting can ensure that parts are formed at one time, which is beneficial to improve the timeliness of parts processing, and is suitable for small batch production. How to choose the cutting process needs to be comprehensively considered according to the size, shape, cost and accuracy requirements of the accessories. When the size of the accessories is small and the shape size and positioning size of the holes are required to be high, it is more economical to use the laser cutting method. With the changes in the automobile manufacturing industry and the global economic integration, various automobile manufacturing enterprises have transformed from the original single, large-scale production to small-scale, multi-variety exports. This transformation has also brought revolutionary changes to the manufacture of auto parts.
