How To Solve When Gas Pressure Affects The Cutting Effect

Time:2022-7-4

Fiber laser cutting machine is a laser cutting machine that uses a fiber laser generator as a light source. It can be used for both plane cutting and bevel cutting, and the edges are neat and smooth. It is suitable for high-precision metal cutting.

Fiber laser outputs a high-energy-density laser beam and gathers it on the surface of the workpiece to instantly melt and vaporize the area irradiated by the spot focused on the workpiece. It moves spot position to achieve automatic cutting. Depending on the different material, the selection of different cutting pressures has a great impact on the quality of the fiber laser cutting machine.

Influence On Cutting Quality

When the pressure of the cutting gas is insufficient, the cutting quality will be affected as follows: melting stains will occur during cutting, and the cutting speed cannot be satisfied, which will affect the production efficiency.

When the pressure of the cutting gas is too high, it will cause: the cutting surface is rough and the slit is wider; at the same time, the cutting section will be partially melted, and a good cutting section cannot be formed.

Influence On Perforation

When the gas pressure is too low, it is not easy to penetrate the cutting plate, and increases the perforation time, resulting in low productivity.

When the gas pressure is too high, it will cause the penetration point melted, forming a larger melting point, which further affects the cutting quality.

How To Solve It

So we use the following methods to analyze and solve:

There are different reasons caused the unstable air pressure: the input air volume of the air compressor is insufficient, the pressure regulation of the air regulating valve of the laser cutting machine is too low, and the solenoid valve has oil pollution, air passage is not smooth, etc.

1. If the input air pressure has reached the requirements, check whether the adjustment of the air filter pressure reducing valve is correct.

2. Before use, you should pay attention to observe the output pressure display of the air compressor. If it does not meet the requirements, you can adjust the pressure or repair the air compressor.

3. If the input air quality is poor, it will cause oil pollution inside the pressure reducing valve, the valve core is difficult to open, and the valve port cannot be fully opened.

4. If the air pressure of the torch nozzle is too low, it is necessary to replace the pressure reducing valve; if the gas path section becomes smaller, the air pressure will be too low, and the air pipe can be replaced according to the manual.

5. If there is no problem with the above external air path, the internal factors of the laser cutting machine should be considered. First, check whether the trachea pipeline is damaged, whether the trachea is knotted, whether the joint is leaking, etc. If there is any, the pipeline needs to be replaced. Secondly, check whether the solenoid valve, one-way valve and proportional valve in the laser cutting machine are damaged, if yes, replacing it in time.

  • Solutions Of Thermal Deformation In Metal Laser Cutting

Laser cutting may cause deformation of the cut metal. This problem is one of the common problems of laser cutting machines. Because laser cutting belongs to thermal cutting, and thermal cutting will definitely emit heat, we can only say that we try to minimize the occurrence of this situation.
